Core strengthening exercises can be easy to do, and they pay dividends!
Your core is responsible for the stability of the muscles in the torso, including the abdominals, back, and pelvic muscles. Strong core muscles are important for overall physical health, as they help improve posture, support your spine, and reduce the risk of injury during physical activity. There are easy core strengthening exercises that can be done from anywhere that will benefit your entire body and well-being.
Easy Core Strengthening Exercises
Strengthening your core doesn’t have to require tons of gym time. There are easy core strengthening exercises that you can do from anywhere. Incorporate these exercises into your fitness routine to help build your strength and stability, improve your posture, and support a healthy spine.
Bridge Exercises
Lie on your back with your knees bent, your feet firmly on the floor, and your arms at your sides. Stabilize your core by pulling your belly button in towards your spine. Press through your heels and lift your hips off the ground, driving your weight into your shoulders, upper back, and feet. Squeeze your glutes as you lift your hips higher. Focus on maintaining proper alignment as you hold this position for a few seconds before slowly lowering your hips back to the floor. Repeat this 10-15 times.
Crunches
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Place your hands behind your head, lift your shoulder blades off the ground, and slowly lower yourself back down.
Planking is an Easy Way to Strengthen Your Core
Get into a push-up position, but instead of lowering yourself down, hold yourself up with your forearms and toes. Keep your back straight and hold for 30-60 seconds. You can also try doing these on your elbows and knees as you work to build strength.
Russian Twists
Sit on the ground with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Lean back slightly, lift your feet off the ground, and twist your torso from side to side while holding a weight or medicine ball.
Bicycle Crunches
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet off the ground. Bring your opposite elbow to your opposite knee as you extend the other leg, and repeat on the other side alternating between the two for a total of 10-20 reps.
With each exercise, remember to breathe normally and not hold your breath. Focus on engaging your core muscles by pulling your belly button towards your spine. Keep your neck relaxed to avoid any straining. Listen to your body; if you experience any pain or discomfort, make sure you are in the proper position and stop if needed.
Start with a few repetitions of each exercise and gradually increase as you build strength. In addition to traditional core exercises like crunches and planks, there are many other ways to improve core strength, such as yoga, Pilates, and functional fitness training.

Chiropractic Is Another Easy Way to Support a Strong Core
In addition to core strengthening exercises, chiropractic care can be a valuable tool for improving core strength and overall musculoskeletal health. Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and treat disorders stemming from the spine and related structures. These disorders or misalignments within the spine can affect your core strength. By working with a chiropractor, patients can develop an individualized treatment plan that includes exercises, spinal adjustments, and other therapies to help achieve health goals and reduce pain.
